The Project
This tropical oasis in East Fremantle was inspired by the client’s love of Bali. The brief? To create a resort lifestyle right at home in their backyard. Featuring tall bamboo for privacy, we created a tranquil and relaxing poolside sanctuary. For this busy family it’s the ultimate spot to kick back with a cocktail and unwind – all whilst keeping the kids entertained in their stunning pool.

The Vision
A resort at home
Inspired by the client’s love of Bali, the brief was to bring a resort lifestyle home. Tall bamboo wraps the space in privacy, so the garden feels like a world of its own the moment you step outside.
Beneath the bamboo, lush tropical planting does the softening, with heliconias and lomandra underplanting, and the family’s existing frangipani and cycads lifted and replanted so the garden kept a little of its history. The result is a green, low-fuss sanctuary made for kicking back with a cocktail while the kids stay busy in the pool.
The Build
Built around the pool
At the heart of it all sits a fibreglass pool, wrapped in clean concrete surrounds that give the space its crisp, resort-style edge and keep maintenance easy for a busy family.
A blade fence frames the pool without closing the garden in, so the planting reads as one continuous, tropical whole from every angle.
